I don't know if the author intended this book to be as funny as it is. But the way he writes english, as the japanese spoke it is hilarious. It's cracking me up. That alone is definitely making it worth it to reread this book.

A reread. I first read Ransom in 1987. All I could recall was the line "the sensei was a funky babe," which still cracks me up. The book has all the humor and intelligence that I remember.
