Jeez Louise, what to say... 5/5, first off, but daaark. Kid discovers his elderly neighbour is a Nazi war criminal in-hiding, 40 years after the war ended - a major figurehead in-fact, and finds fascination with this. The novella is the story of the kid's slow transformation from when he is 11 years old through to his later teenage years, into a total sociopath at the result of the relationship he builds with Herr Dussander.
As dark and evil as this story is, it's a solid King production. If I could critique one thing, I'd suggest this could have been written as a full novel and not a novella. The ending felt a bit compressed and I'd have liked to see if fleshed out a bit more.
