is this a safe space to admit that i thought this author's name was Olive for years and i only recently found out that it's not

I read it as Olivia for years I can’t lie. I’ve had this book for years but I read smth else of hers and now know I hate her writing, but I refuse to donate a book without reading it first so. this is entirely a spite read. Im complaining loudly and constantly to everyone about every sentence and it’s not enough

also i am a big spite read supporter this will 100% be me when i eventually get round to reading babel

But yeah I LOVE a spite read so there’s that at least. I enjoyed babel but I think if I reread it I’d probably change my mind about that. I should’ve been paid for making it through katabasis honestly

I got about 20% through babel before i had to soft dnf it due to my irl translation degree 😅 which is what will make me a big hater when i eventually do read it lmao
