Damn Renée Carlino… why you always gotta do your characters so dirty?!

That’s it! I am so mentally breaking up with him. 😭

So many different emotions all at once on one page. I already love this book with my whole entire heart.

I need this in paper to annotate every other line. This book is cracking me up so much and it’s not even a comedy.

“I thought I was the most obnoxious boy in the world? That’s what you told me last week.” “I know, and I’m sorry. It’s just that I’m a woman now, Jax. I have emotions, okay? You’re not obnoxious today.” - she’s 12 😅

“I read her an article about a boozy Hillary Clinton being shipped off to rehab. “This can’t be true,” I said. “I knew Hilary was an alkie,” Leila slurred. Keep in mind Leila is a mom talking to the 12 year old neighbor girl in these conversations. 😅

“I take my clothes off for money, Emerson. How sad is that?” She stared into my eyes as she continued to work the same piece of gum she’d been chewing the whole night. “Um . . . sad, I guess . . . but at least people want to see you naked?” I was always trying to be the silver-lining girl.

I don’t think this book is meant to be funny but I have laughed out loud so many times. I love this author.

Only 12 pages in and Emi is already exhausting me.
