Also, the book being narrated in third person is not doing it for me. I usually don't mind but for this book where I already have no connection with the characters the third person narrator is not working

The thing is I don't think I like Cassandra, she sounds like a stubborn woman that threw a tantrum years ago and that's why she got kicked out of the bookshop. I mean, I know she was a thief but why? like there has not been any redeeming quality for her. And then Lowell he's like brooding but no in the interesting way more like, what's up your ass
