Lydia doesn't listen to anyone... that is until Lady Catherine gave her a dressing down. Her words were filled with bluntness and in a forthright manner that Lydia will never forget.

Ladies and gentlemen... in this corner... in possession of a sardonic grin and a rapier wit, Mr. Bennet of Longbourn. Over in this corner... dressed in fine fabric and possessing a perpetual sneer, the termagant Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Let's get ready to RUMBLE. OMG!!! This was the most fun watching these two go at each other. And then Lady C faced off with Mrs. Bennet who tag-teamed with Mr. B.

This is absolutely delightful. It is light, funny, at times hilarious and just a dream to read. I love Mr. Bennet, his banter with Darcy, his observing of D&E and his accepting of their 'unofficial' courting as he called it. Collins arrived and our dear Colonel and he locked horns, then Darcy set-him-down every so nicely, and finally Mr. B threatened him. Oh, I just know Lady C will arrive soon.

Oh, I am loving this story. D&E meet as he awakens from fever. There is no disdain, haughty attitude, slighting remark, just a man needing a drink of water from an angle of mercy. Be still my heart. The slow evolution of attraction and affection are building under the watchful eye of Mr. Bennet. Sequestered at Longbourn, D is able to observe the family in their natural habitat and he sees that they are harmless.
