A first minor live spooky event at 78%, I really wish there had been a sense of danger and spookiness before this moment. Everything is told matter of fact that happened decades ago, and it feels so far and distant and non-threatening.
Which isn’t inherently bad but it’s not what I’d expect from a horror book club pick.
