pls ln was the 3rd night i’ve tried to read but kept falling asleep bc ive been reading past midnight 😭 (not tn tho!) & i had 20pgs to go to hit 300 lol. anyway, SO NOT MERMAIDS.SIRENS.😯🧜🏾‍♀️ BECAUSE YES…THERE IS A DIFFERENCE & IM SO GLAD ITS MADE CLEAR HERE. so is the one in the secret tank a female then?? omg so much to think abt…ugh jason is a dick 😒 & what is jill missing…

my plan was to get up to pg 300 (& i fell asleep reading last night) but i gave myself an hr to read so here we are…vv much was tensing at luis tempting fate, they now have a live mermaid & a dead one on the ship! fucking scientists istg! everything dr. toth was saying was haunting (+ w background music aka the playlist im listening to, “into the drowning deep”) but so true… AHHH YAY OLIVIA & TORY <3 HEHE

ugh nothing like watching a few eps of siren (2018) & then the lure (2017) & reading this with a “killer mermaids” instrumental playlist in the background before going to sleep & the timing being great for the turn in the story. god i’m so mermaid pumped rn, i wish i had a degree in marine biology 😭 but also ugh omg rip ray :(((💔 & aw olivia (likes tory hehe yay reciprocation!) & ugh the dolphins ☹️

rip heather 💔☹️☹️😔 the curse of wanting to be the first……..but MERMAIDS!!! & the description of them!!! why is this making me have fomo for not being on the meluise with all of them …and more pressing, this book is making me want to go into the ocean & i can’t swim 😭😭 but oh shit, sun’s out… & the survival of the night begins 🧍🏾‍♀️

GAH i wish my full attentions were reserved for just this book, it’s like i’m watching a limited series rn. all the different povs of everyone on the melusine too…dr toth & theodore…olivia & ray, the hunters (michi is intriguing), the wilson siblings (no seriously…an asl interpreter w deaf twin sisters also in oceanography is insane). i hated when everybody said this but YES, this IS gonna be interesting.

me adding a 3rd book to my reading plate HAHAHAHAHA (technically im already supposed to start this for my mer-may 🧜🏾‍♀️🌊🐚 tbr…the other 2 books are just behind) but ahh!! color me intrigued!! also like how the chapter titles around the sea depths & the introduction aka “surface” are the news articles/transcripts/diary entries of the disappearance…aw anne stewart, tory’s sis ://
