Nothing remarkable happening. Just getting through the very basic description of the Kids first 14 years. Seems to enjoy violence and being part of crimes. He seems to like the Judge and pairs up with him.

During chapter 6 they are prisoners. The Kid and Toadvine working cleaning.
Chapter 7 brings two men named John Jackson. One of each color. Both are the same except for one white one black. The purpose? Only McCarthy knows.

It still does not flow well for me while reading. I do not know it is will ever be of interest.

The Kid somehow survives the Comanches. He gets away and runs into Sproule who is injured. In their travels they seem to be following the Comanches and their devastation. As Sproule gets worse he tells The Kid to save himself. Sproule passes and The Kid is captured by Mexicans.

Steven that is interesting. I tried to find your review but didnt see it.
What did you think of it?

Steven Lesle, I read it back in 1993 so have long forgotten the details and long before GR. I do remember the amazing writing craftsmanship of McCarthy and how that beauty played in contrast to the extreme violence. From what I can remember the Judge is one of the most fearsome and ruthless characters on the written page.

Nicole Lewis I wasn’t a big fan of this one..I liked, ‘The Road’ much better. Enjoy the read!

I do not have The Road. I have seen part of the movie with Viggo Mortensen (which I like as an actor) but I could not finish it.

I did really enjoy All the Pretty Horses.
