I'll be honest - and clearly without knowing how the book will end - this could just as easily have been a very compelling read if it ended on the last chapter I finished, Chapter 17. That would have (arguably) been a very fitting finale.

The Russian original is so much better than the English tr. I don't remember who translated it, but holy crap, they didn't know English well. After this, get Metro Britannia, another great book in the Metro 2033 "world".

Sounds good, I will check it out. I know there are a lot of non-Glukhovsky sequels/spin-offs out there, including the Stalker series (always thought that was a Roadside Picnic/Tarkovsky tribute series, but I can see that's not the case now).
