I think either the protagonist or the animals are killing the people. I don’t know if this book can be described as magical realism but the presence of ghosts and the author’s obsession with horoscopes makes it seem so.

The protagonist is quite quirky in a really enjoyable way. This is quite a lot of exposition though and I’m curious when the mystery begins.
