It's giving early Howl's Moving Castle. The rumors about the people being taken apart by the Vanisher's Constructs in the wilderness is giving me similar parallels to the rumors about Howl wandering the Waste, stealing the literal hearts of young women.

Especially since we know the MC will end up living in the Dragon's castle, and that this is a romance.
