WHAT IS THIS? Now there's a detective? help i do not understand. Everything is cursed? Eggs? Foxes? What even is this supposed to be? What does it mean?

Also, it's clear that a lot of the narration comes directly from the light novel. There's a lot of unnecessary descriptions of things we can literally see happening because, you know, manga is made of pictures. I'm sure that would have been nice in the light novel, but it's overkill in a manga. I have exactly one hope going forward, that this turns into a yuri. Because at least then I would understand something.

I have no clue what's happening. They're inside a book? The entire town is the characters from the book? The white haired girl is a wolf actually, but it's ok she's not a fox since the main character is a fox now and also has a fox she took. By took I mean just straight up grabbed him from the garden and now is carrying him around like a cat. I am very confused.

I mean a regular fox. Not a kitsune. Idk what animal the girl on the cover is. She could be a cat girl. I'm hoping she's a kitsune, especially since there's a regular fox.
