She's going to the "fabric mart" in NYC. Ok, of course that's exactly what a well-established fashion designer is going to call the Garment District. It's basically a really big JoAnn's (no hate on JoAnn's, I love that place). This sounds like snobby New Yorker-ness, but this is a thing an established designer would know.
