Damen and Laurent’s bond grows like a simmer without allowing either to boil. They come across a camp that was raided by Akeilios, Damens country, and they want to find out the cause of it.

Damen leads troops into battle to ambush an ambush

Damen and Laurent find a messenger in town at an inn. In this journey Damen helps laurent in many ways and in the end Laurent opens up and tells Damen he’s thankful he came. They poke at eachothers past and thoughts.

Laurent tells Damen that Damianos was the best fighter in Akielos and in order to kill him one day he had to train to be the best. He doesn’t know that Damen is the very person he is talking about.

Laurent challenged incompetent captain Govert to combat. Laurent won and humiliated Govert in term gaining respect from the regent men.

Laurent was only second best fighter after his brother Auguste. But Laurent doesn’t know that Damen had been the one to kill Auguste.

Tensions are high in Laurents army squad. There are fights breaking out all the time and Damen wants him to take his advice.
