Sometimes I use it for good thoughts too, such that I do not ruminate on bad feelings nor do I bask excessively in good feelings. I realize that I am the eternal being observing every thing that happens around and within, without attaching my true self to those.

Loved this idea: think of each feeling or thought as a horse you jumped up on. If it's a cranky horse, just jump right down and let it pass. I use it for all thoughts and it works! Letting go of bad feelings is easier with this paradigm.
