So much aggravation, why can't they all just sing songs, play twister, have a laugh and get along?

Two hours of war, blood, guts & horror followed by an impossible love story that had me sad, happy, hoping, angry, bitter and left me feeling despondent.

WTF is happening to me? How is one expected to sleep 🤓😫?

I've spotted some kindness finally. Not a lot. But a bit.

Julie G And they didn't even need to live through the aftermath of COVID and Donald Trump!

Left Coast Justin Maybe they ran out of beer?

Hahaha - well, the plague was to come, but they had a lot to be miserable about. But, you're right - no Trump!!!!! There's a few Trump-like bastards in this one though :(

You know mate, they seemed to have beer/ale with everything. Bread and ale (or wine) for brekky, bread and gruel for lunch - bread and beer for dinner. Well the Monks did anyway!!! What they needed was acurry house just down the road!

Julie G All they drink in the "Poldark" series is wine or brandy (or, tea, once a day). A doctor just suggested to a patient, that he should try to take in "even a little water." Hilarious that they thought their water was contaminated THEN.

Diane Barnes I was watching a History Channel show last night about the rise of beer and spirits in the US. Water was full of bacteria that caused typhus, cholera and dysentery, so beer and ale was the drink of choice, even for kids. Even Washington supplied it for his men during the Revolutionary War.

Julie G To Diane: interesting, though, that, in many ways, our water is much worse now! I'm envious of my brother, who is back on the AT again, drinking at natural springs. In his memoir BLUE HIGHWAYS, the author, William Least Heat-Moon, writes about access to natural springs. Regular travelers used to keep track of where they were, so they'd have access to naturally purified water. Now we've paved and built over most of them. Isn't it just fascinating that we don't seem to be concerned about WATER??!

Hahahaha - AGAIN with the Poldark (thighs) again Jools - we need to talk!!!!!! It seems back in the day, diluting beer and wine was common right? I know back in Ancient Rome, wine was always diluted - what????? We can't drink the tap water here in Guadalajara BTW - I'm developing Poldark-like muscles carrying 10L water bottles from the shops all week - just sayin' 🦘😎

Wow - even kids Diane! I can't believe they had it for brekky in the Dark Ages!!!!
