beautifully done - i cried so much, punched the air a few times, and overall just really really fell in love with mary. i really liked the way the romance was handled, especially the way it didn't suddenly overtake the narrative at the expense of everything else, but still felt satisfying in the same way austen's own books do. one i will be revisiting for years to come i'm sure!

picked this up this afternoon and haven’t stopped reading it since - i didn’t expect to be crying so frequently for mary, but it’s hard not to when so many of your own past experiences, emotions and thought processes stare right back at you from the page
