This has to be the most infuriating book ever. A great idea wrecked by the author's ridiculous characterisation of a bloke in his 60s as too feeble to lift a small carry-on suitcase up the stairs in his hone. He 'staggers' & 'totters' and fumbles and trembles throughout the book (I'm on Chapter 6). I guess Dixon was aiming for pathos but just ended up with pathetic. Ugh.
