Oh, thank goodness they're not infected.

That was unsettling and truly sad to read.

48-hours is the exact amount of time to put out an APB. It's been past 48-hours, not by much, but still past that time frame.

I know what happened to her, but he doesn't, and he's being told to wait until Saturday to call back.

I'm gonna fight the operator.

"In the beginning the hunger was there all the time. But by the third day, something happened to it. It left our bodies, and—I know it sounds strange, but—somehow the hunger joined forces with the cold, which by now had become a living thing."

This is such good and unsettling story-telling and imagery.

So she's worried about getting into a car with a stranger (AS SHE SHOULD BE), but she's not worried about posting on her blog every single detail of where she and her brother are staying, where their grandfather's house is, what it looks like, and how easy it is to get inside.

I need these characters to be smarter. I really need them to be smarter, please. 😮‍💨

I love the premise of this book, and I'm hoping I like it, but omg, I really don't like the two main characters right now.

Because how are you as nearly grown adults going to act like a vacation is more important than your Dad getting injured?

Then acting like it was on purpose, then pout the entire train ride like a toddler, and then insult someone trying to help you, all through a blog post?

Just... what!?
