umbrella interiority—between the self and the outer world. as the origin purpose of an umbrella was to give shade for its occupants, then to protect them from rain later. it’s about a man took shelter from the sky—so, i assume the walls were different things which mean, if they’re standing without roof—or someone facing them from the ‘outer world’ (under the open skies), that’s exteriority! that is.

I like how the author uses a wide range of references—old and recent ones. It gives readers more paths for further reading…
you know what I mean? sometimes we’re too lazy to dig through older references ourselves, but at the same time, if an author only uses recent writings, we start having doubts, right?
