Mom at the playground with husband and son. Gets called in to work. She’s putting her son in his car seat. Kid is throwing a tantrum, kicks her in the cheek. She tells him to stop it and behave. The stay-at-home dad chastises HIS WIFE. This is why I hate having kid characters in books. Whoever disciplines the kid is portrayed as a monster. And then the adult narrator doing a whiny kid voice? I can’t.
