Love these landscapes where vegetation gives way, allow the rocks and soil to sing their secret, ancient stories….🗻🏔️🥾🎶

Second short story was good but had no-where near the power of the first. I did flick a poetic extract to my buddy in New Hampshire and he sent me a warm message back confirming he wore Chippewa 🥾 and had read Norman Maclean. He also said that they had had their first warm day of the year and he’d pulled the boat ⛵️ out!

This guy is an absolutely awesome writer! This story reminds me of my good mate Matt Humbert and our mutual appreciation of fine American working clothes and good boots!

New story, “Logging and Pimping”

““He worked just in the summer, and then his cultural side took over…and the first thing he did was took out a library card. Then he went looking for a good whore, and so he spent the winter reading and pimping. He said on the whole he preferred southern whores; southern whores, he said, were generally “more poetical,””

Mmmm

Possibly the best short story I’ve ever read, such a beautiful heart wrenching ending! Exquisite! Now to the next story….

Omg the language in this story is so beautiful. It is truly a work of art and such a joy to read! Loving it 🥰

“When I was younger a teacher had forbidden me to say “more perfect” because she said if a thing is perfect it can’t be more so. But by now I had seen enough of life to have regained confidence in it…..However I may have violated grammar, I was feeling more perfect with every rainbow.”

Either we don’t know what part to give or we don’t like to give any part of ourselves. Then even more often than not, the part that is needed is not wanted.” Hmmmmm
