So far the FMC just comes across as difficult. Perhaps if we’d seen her sisters betrayal we would understand why she’s so against romance etc but her mother tries to explain why marriage is important in that day and age and that she only wants her safe and cared for. She is honest that she doesn’t love her father but her life was okay. The FMC is all judgy and says it’s not genuine. Then she lies and whinges
