Patriarchal analysis of John 8 in line with the previously read Num 5:11-31 and odd association with (of all people) Prophet Jeremiah in chapter 17 - especially that really out of the way Jeremiah 17:13 - but okay = passable! That Numbers 5:11-31 always makes me nauseous - not because I have committed adultery but because I have Sjogren's Syndrome. ;) + JMJ +

That link with the Parable of Lazarus in the bosom of Father Abraham in Luke and the link with the Resurrection of Lazarus in John = well done = I had never thought about that. Great going on the essay concerning linking Elijah, Elisha and Daniel 7:13 with what I mentioned previously in Luke and John. Nice. Good. :) + JMJ +

I am now realizing how important the Book of Sirach is to understand the Gospel of John - especially on the topic of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. I must indulge my Lectio Divina more on the Book of Sirach during this crucial time of my MTS final studies. :) + JMJ +

Murray Fiza I knew a translator who ran into roadblocks with a Bible publisher for translating controversial parts of Either Jeremiah or Ezekiel accurately

This was like sooooooo out of the way man - that Jeremiah 17:13 thing! That Jeremiah 17:13 thing - it is there in most Covenantal Biblical Theology Commentary books but only since the 1980s decade. Prior to Vatican Council I (so way-way back), it was just speculation, and some Catholic Bibles would never even publish John 8, or put it somewhere else where we would not take notice. But - Jesus Christ.......I empathize with that translator of yours - I really empathize. This was so out of the way - I am in shock - I need another cup of South-Indian brewed milky coffee. This will be my 4th cup tonight - and the night is young - and I am studying for my final MTS exams and reading side by side.......my cat Lopez (female) gave up after just reading the Book of Numbers with me, especially that Numbers 5:11-31 and now she stays clear of me when I read Catholic Bible Commentaries LOL! :) ;) <3 Love you Murray! <3 Are you Fr. Murray or Rev. Murray by any chance? :)
