Loving your progress through this one Emna! I didn't review it but read/enjoyed it ages ago.

Sorry it wasn't in my reviews for you to find! I read it so long ago I wasn't even on GR then 😂😂 Will have to re-read and fix that! I remember it was fascinating and good! 🩷❤️

Oh and for another shorter book w similar sensibility, try Night Watch by Josh Lanyon. Not sure how you'll like the writing style, but, it's a man whose bf turned out to be a psychopath, now escaped from prison and coming for him, and the detective assigned to protect him. Most people blame the hero, Parker, for falling for the villain. It's subtle but intense. I don't remember how romantic it is, but, I enjoyed it.

I have sooooo many comfort re-reads. The highest compliment is when I buy a hard copy so it's easy to flip to my favorite parts! 😂 I am kind of a hard-copy ho for my favs. 😁❤️

BUT HERE COMES MY CONFESSION:
at first, when I started this i was sitting, F confused ,there like “girl… yeah you can’t take this seriously” bc here is the thing , i literally read serial killer books for FUN 🤣 that’s MY thing. so reading about someone being GENUINELY traumatized bc his boyfriend is a possessive serial killer who kills people out of jealousy and obsession for him??? it felt so weird for my brain to process 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
like yeah I guess i knew it was awful but i struggled SOOOO much to actually feel empathy for Jason at first 💀 and that honestly scared me because i kept thinking “how the hell am i supposed to enjoy this story if i can’t connect with him ???"BUTTT once i started realizing how much blame and emotional damage his boyfriend put onto him 😭💔😭💔😭💔 that’s when the empathy finally started hitting me 😭 before that i was genuinely fighting for my life trying to figure out how to emotionally approach this 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Ha ha ha ha I LOVE serial killer romance, but, also love this for the collateral damage hero trying to separate/come to terms with his judgment...so conflicted...such a mind fuck...! Heh heh. Good stuff!
