I finished this gem; I have also read her first novel The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. This one deals with death, and was recommended by the psychologist whose passion has been the denial of death, Sheldon Solomon. Good overall in southern gothic style. the biggest flaw was she described a Baptist preacher who was not credible regarding how poorly he handled the concerns of a dying parishoner.
