I think its almost ironic how connel and marianne can love each other so much yet struggle for years with communication. I really like marianne but I adore connel. I think that marianne and connel are sort of strange and they find comfort in each other because only they understand their strangeness. Although thats probably what's ironic about the title of the book because they are pretty normal in their abnormality.
