I remember wondering why this book took so long to get started with the zombies. But this time round, knowing what’s coming and understanding story structure a bit more, I appreciate the longer intro before the zombie fighting starts so we get to see what Ali’s life is like after the death of her whole family. I don’t like the forced romance flashes she gets though 😬

Re-reading! I've been in a zombie story phase and after reading a few typical gorey zombie books, I decided I wanted to re-read this YA paranormal romance zombie story. The first tme I read this I remember going into it not knowing the zombies were spirits who would eat souls rather than the physical rise-from-the-dead zombie, so I was disappointed. But this time, I know exactly what I'm in for.

I keep waiting for this to get better! But all I can think is 'Cliche', 'Already been done before' and 'Wow THAT'S not surprising '...

I really thought this book was going to be different. Yet it highly reminds me of Twilight in parts, and even Fallen in others... o_o (I really disliked Fallen).

The concept is a great idea, but I don't feel like it was executed in the best way...
