...the full grasp of the story but the episodes we have a good portion of were certainly enlightening. The Latin text as well was vivd and interesting to read. I wasn't aware going in how influential Trimalchio and his dinner scene were on art and culture in general which was cool. Interesting read.

This was a very interesting read. I thought researching the background info, about Nero and his absolutely insane behavior + expectations of upper class society in Neronian times was very interesting and this certainly was informative in that regard. It was also really funny at times and extremely absurd, although also a bit upsetting at others. I think the fragmentary nature of the work made it a bit hard to get...

I actually really liked the Eumolpus in the Art Gallery chapter, I always love reading ancient people complain about the same things that people today do in terms of how society is collapsing these days because everyone cares about money and no one cares about art- it's honestly refreshing to know we've had the same problems for thousands of years and yet we persist
