This is one of the 5 books I consider my greatest influences. I love the blended/vague genre of poetry/memoir, I love her strange somewhat distorted imagery (colors are people, colors are days, i.e.), and I love the playful, spirited (sometimes matter-of-fact) tone that never wavers--when the story gets heavy, the tone lifts it out of melodrama.
