Alex and Poppy are intimate. Nikolai comes and tells them the AC for the entire wing of the apartments isn’t working and refunds them for the entire three days. They go find a hotel. Alex isn’t talking about what happened and falls asleep. Poppy sleeps in the other bed.

Four summers ago they were supposed to go to Sweden but Poppy got really sick. She told Alex to go and she would meet up but he came to New York instead and took care of her. Poppy had pneumonia!

Alex & Poppy try to go to the pool when they get back to the apartment after a long day of everything going badly. The pool is empty! Had to be drained. The air isn’t working in the room! Alex loses it! Poppy says this isn’t how things are supposed to go. They should be how they used to be but Alex yells that things have changed. Poppy says she doesn’t want to lose him. Alex raps her up and they kiss!

Five summers ago: Sanibel Island. Alex is so depressed because Sarah broke up with him cause he is boring. Poppy tries to cheer him up but it’s not really working. While on that trip, Poppy for the first time feels that she is in love with Alex. The rain poured so hard Alex asked to go somewhere cold next trip.

Palm Springs is so hot and Alex isn’t feeling well. Poppy is so upset and is trying so hard to make it a great day. After the zoo they went to a dinosaur museum that was awful. Then in their way back to the apartment, they got a flat tire. Things are still not going well.

Vail trip: Alex calls Sarah twice a day but doesn’t talk in front of Poppy. They are having a great time. They connect with Lita from their trip to Canada at Buck’s place. She lives in Vail now and is a river rafting guide. They go on a beginner’s guide with her. On the second to last day while hiking Poppy rolls her ankle and Alex carries her down the mountain! Why don’t these characters say how they feel!

It’s the last day that Alex and Poppy have to themselves. They shared the bed to help Alex’s back. They woke up next to each other, touching. Poppy’s feelings are getting stronger. She wants this to be the best day to salvage their friendship and make Alex never want to go 2 years without talking again. They go to the zoo but Alex gets dizzy and doesn’t feel good in the heat.

Six summers ago: Vail, Colorado. Guillermo dumped Poppy after meeting her family. They are loud, hoard everything, and have colorful personalities. Not for everyone. They had been living together so Poppy moving out was financially and emotionally hard. Alex has been dating Sarah for 9 months. She doesn’t seem to like Poppy. A vacation doesn’t seem likely until Poppy is offered a free stay at a hotel in Vail.

Current summer: Poppy helps Alex edit his Tender account. They argue about the kind of girls Alex likes and goes for. Poppy doesn’t like that they are sweet girls but boring. He wouldn’t ever go for someone like her. But Alex looks at her Tender account and says he would. Poppy blushes and again has feelings she ignores. She is glad his back went out or who knows what would have happened next. Probably NOTHING!

7 summers ago they went to New Orleans. Poppy has moved to New York. She doesn’t get to see Alex as much. Poppy is dating a chef named Guillermo. She met him while dining with Rachel at one of her places for her social media account. Poppy and Alex have another great vacation full of times where she has feelings for him but doesn’t say anything.
