It took me a VERY long time to read that short chapter because I was distracted by my adorable pupper. 😍🐶😆

'Gabriel, why are you punishing her for who she is because you're scared of who *you* might be?'

Internalized homophobia seems like it can be a real beast. 😖😵‍💫 Go Arthur for standing up for Gwen!! He may be written as full of himself, but he has a good heart.

Here's to hoping that Arthur can get Gabe to pull his head out of his ass in the upcoming chapter. He was written as being a real shit towards Gwen and that was very upsetting to read about.

I can relate to the first sentence in that excerpt but not in a romantic way. Heartbreak and codependency can happen in all types of relationships, including platonic ones. I've been there, done that, and I'm gradually recovering from it. But yeah, I felt Arthur's pain in that passage.

How foolish it had been to get attached to somebody who wasn't even particularly nice to him; how idiotic he must have looked to Sidney, the only person who knew, every time he returned from a clandestine rendezvous, going on as if he and Gawain were the romance of the century.

Jfc. Poor Arthur. 😟😟😣😣

Good for Gwen for standing up to the king's doctor who was being useless towards Bridget when she needed help.

I agree with Sidney. This is a wise thing to do wrt relationships and personal interactions.

I wonder why Gabriel reacted the way that he did when Gwen came out to him. I know I'll get an explanation eventually, but I could feel her pain when she felt so devastated. 😔

'Why don't you come over here,' Gwen said sweetly, 'so I can pit you like an olive?'

That made me smile. I know I've written about this at least a few times, but I'm really enjoying the banter and dialogue in this book. It's very entertaining. 😁

I'm still amused by the witty dialogue. Sidney said something rude about Gabriel and it made me sad/irked me. 😟

Arthur was very broody at the end of this chapter. Poor guy.
