I think the end of the book is just battle content, and that's not something I care for... I just love their daily life at the Ridge, instead of the action... Also I was reading online, bc "why care for spoilers" and I think the show decided to end with this book, and end the story here, instead of making new stuff up - which feels a good way to do an adaptation!!!

I LOVE Jamie as a father so much!!! The love and worry he has for each of his children (and Ian), and the way he accepts them and loves them all!!! And worrying for his grandkids and any future grandkids!!! I LOVE this family, and how freaking big it is!!!

(Also me being dumb and impatient by searching Marsali's sister's name, when just lines after Jamie realizes he forgot to list her and mentions Joan!!)

This is another point that I wonder if it was inspired by the show... from what I know from it, Jocasta ends up playing a bigger role and having a more lasting presence (understandable with the incredible casting!!!), so I wonder if bringing back this mention was inspired by the show...

I think all the mentions to Murtagh is once again another thing the show has influenced the books!!!

We're back with Marsali and Fergus and I LOVE them so much!!! They're one of the best relationships in the series, and holding Germain close finally!!! Also I LOVE this house and it's just most of Jamie's kids and then Roger, and I LOVE this energy so much!!!!

KOBO running out of battery on the bus does not happen with physical books!!! (Now to be fair, I couldn't have read the physical version, bc half the trip I was standing)

Now onto the book, really loved Jamie here, realizing what I don't like of him in a romance setting, I really like in him as a leader!! Him standing up for his people, telling them he'll look after them, no matter the side they're on!!! LOVED it!!!

WHAT??!!! I remember my dad asking me about this reveal when it happened in the show, and I remember googling it and I thought it was only a show thing, I found no book references!!! But it's here!!! The possibility is here - also the explanation is more clear that anything I read online!!! Also I LOVE Frances so much!!!

I know people hate me for this, but ahhh, Jamie talking about Frank, and finally seeing a picture of him just makes me so happy!!! Yes, I question some of Frank's behavior, but I still really love him, and his love for Brianna, and I really like the idea that he wrote this book believing one day would travel to the past and find the love of his wife's life!!!

They named the dog Bluey!!! After a Disneyland reference!!
