When I read this chapter I was able to imagine up Queequeg from the description the narrator provided but I noticed I couldn’t imagine the narrator himself next to Queequeg. There’s such a contrast in the lack of description of himself. Maybe it’s an intentional tact from the writer. The reflection on humanity was insightful too.

Imagine a world where you can’t picture the thing you’re hunting for because there is no photography or paintings & the only way to fully know what it looks like is to see it for your own eyes and risking your life. Did the narrator do a better job describing it with his words over the few paintings that actually existed of them. No wonder there are mythical creatures
