This portion on the Lebanese war has been the most interesting so far.

See it's stories like this that make Daccarett hard to stomach. I remember having a disdain for being waited upon at a young age and hating the heirarchy of servants. I was admonished for speaking to a cleaner in my grandmother's house. It's hard to empathize with a little girl being chastised for treating her nanny like a servant.

The Sonia the duck thing is slightly ridiculous. This kid has no appreciation for the dozens in adults in her life who are interested in teaching her

In about halfway through. This is a pleasant insight into an unusual place it has a familiar narrative of parents trying to forge a new family from the constraints of their childhood cultures and traditions. Although very readable, although Daccarett is easy to spend time with, not much is happening.
