This isn't the cute read I was hoping it was going to be when I picked it out of the stack. But it also isn't the romance I was looking for it to be at its baseline either.
It's way too busy for the story it's telling me. There's so many balls in the air right now, with so many issues and plot points going, I'm having a hard time caring about anything.

This book feels a little all over the place for me. And I'm not sure if it is because our two main romantic characters are all over the place, if it is the plot is all over the place or it is the fact that it takes inspiration from gothic romances which isn't exactly my cup of tea, if not just something I don't get at all.
But halfway down and I'm struggling to care about what is happening.

I'm just leaning into my current taste for a light, fluffy and fun romance with this one.
While I do queue up my next reads, I don't often hold fast to it. Mostly because it is hard to judge my reading mood in advanced. And for the sake of the books I'm reading, I often defer to moods that compliment the book.
Why force things? I'm not in school and this isn't required reading.
