If you ever decide to read Eco, it is my recommendation that you be familiar with at least one romance language. Familiar enough that you may be able to parse Latin, French, and Italian and the occasional Spanish without knowing them.

I am also getting Vietnam flashbacks to the parts of Foucalt's Pendulum where he goes on long historical rants in the middle of the story or dialogue lol.

You ever start a book and just know it's going to be an amazing ride? That is what I am experiencing at the moment of writing this.
