Again I say, the authors missed the mark in their attempt to write a teenage boy. I appreciate them trying, because male POV is not something that is often seen in YA, but they just didn't quite nail it.

I'm sorry, but Ethan does not sound like a teenage boy in the slightest. He doesn't sound like a boy, much less a teenage one. And the length of this book? It's a no for me. I'm going to give it another chapter or two just to be sure, but it's looking like this will be a DNF.
