Okay wait. The beginning says “The following text has been faithfully transcribed from Navarrian….” Meaning this is likely Violets journal entries??? Or something of the like. But none of this reads like a journal entry at all. She struggles to remember Tynan’s name until it gets spoken in dialogue, but if this were a journal entry, she would already know it???????????

I hate hate hate how Xaden has this shining light on him every time he’s introduced like “omg! Look! That’s the guy! That’s the guy that’s gonna fuck her!” It makes him feel more like an object to be ogled at than anything else

I must start this by saying I am a fool. I wanted a new perspective on this book, so I listened to the Fantasy Fangirls podcast to see what could possibly be so compelling about this story.

Rebecca Yaros is their god, and I am Lucifer cast down to media literacy hell. One paragraph into my attempt to read this, and I see “Scribe’s training for the win.” Make it end now.
