I like that this isn’t too sentimental. The three people and their interactions feel authentic.
I can see that they have a history that needs unpacking, including their relationship with the man whose ashes they’re carrying. They’re also at a juncture in their lives when a reassessment might be unavoidable.
This novel is easy on the ear but isn’t fluffy. I’m becoming more engaged with each chapter.
