This scene shattered me, and I think it's because it mirrors something that's been weighing heavily on my heart. Two young athletes in my country recently left behind so many grieving people, and seeing the pain and heartbreak in this book reminded me of them. They were so young, so promising, and it breaks my heart that sometimes life doesn't give people the time they deserve. I never knew them personally, but somehow I find myself mourning them all the same.
