The current chapter and the previous chapter are actually both really good, I wish he had started with these chapters or at least cut out most of the first 100 pages.

It took about 100 pages for the “medicine” part of “music as medicine” to actually appear in this book. I understand that some background knowledge on music and the brain is needed as a baseline but I believe this book could have been structured better and instead of front-loading the more general information that is in the first 100 pages this information could have been interspersed throughout the book.

One of his other books, This is Your Brain on Music, is one of my top 5 favorite books that I have read so I have high hopes for this book.
