I like Rowell’s stories, especially the trope where the leads meet after a few years are in middle age. But this book is a drag. All of Cherry’s sisters sound toxic, not supportive, in not accepting that Cherry & Tom are divorcing. Cherry’s mom is the worst.
Cherry herself doesn’t seem to like herself much. She behaves like she has accepted reality but is constantly doing things to hurt herself. Bleh!
