This is painfully and stupidly dramatic.

Omfg. So now the “best friend” who JUST learned that she has been cheated on is hoping that her hugging him agree breaking up with her boyfriend means that she’s “interested in [him] as more than just a friend” and as he recognizes she feels sad, HE feels “triumphant.” Oh, and he’s also apparently known about the cheating for a while re: locker room bragging about multiple girls.

Lmao, okay. So, the guy best friend and future love interest thinks the main character has very poor views on men (and women subsequently) because her dad was an asshat. Which, given her POV, this is quite obvious.
