Where the heck does that come from ? Explain. Give us a backstory. That is such a weird statement to make, especially without any context...

Why is it that SJM feels the need, in every single one of her series, to ram down her FMC's former love interests ? Can't we have a switch without making these men look bad ?

Chaol was amazing, and now that Aelin likes Rowan, Chaol is painted as a bitter, mean character for us to stop liking him. Does SJM know she doesn't have to destroy a character for us to love another one ?
She did that with Tamlin in ACOTAR.

If someone just gutted the King, this whole series would have been over by book 3.

Celaena jumps from one man to the next because Sam's death has wrecked her so badly she's now unable to fully give herself to anyone for fear of losing the one she loves again. Sam was her only true love and I'll die on this hill.

YES I'm reaching way beyond what SJM is capable of implying bc she's dumb af, but I'm trying to find reasons for this shit-show to make sense.
