Most of the time, I'd advise against referencing other pieces of media, especially direct or indirect influences. Best case scenario, it's cute but distracting, worst case scenario, I'd rather be engaging with that work. Yes I've also seen Rear Window and Gaslight and now I wish I was watching those instead of reading this, and thanks for the reminder I still need to read and watch Rebecca.

I thought it'd be funny to listen to another dumb popcorn thriller at work and now I'm committed to another one of these for 12½ more hours of my life lmao
