okay i don't think hassan's story is being written in a particularly interesting way but i'm guessing my feelings of boredom are more to do with already knowing what's coming due to watching the show

it's actually insane to me that this was written in 2010. like i know the current political atmosphere has been building for a while. but the landscape of this novel genuinely feels like it could have come out last year ... wtf. i watched the show adaption and for real thought the book must have been new. they changed literally nothing for season 1 beat for beat it's all the same
