It's decent writing, but it's terribly droll and I have no idea how I'm only about a third of the way through and what else could possibly happen in her boring, sad life unless she actually does something and ignores the yuppies. I'm so glad I wasn't born back then and confined to amuse a husband's friend's wives. Taboo for the win.
