if nothing comes from the repeated line, "jack wipes his lips" "jack wiped his lips with the back of his hand "jack constantly wipes his lips" im gonna be pissed, because theres actually no reason to repeatedly use the same exact line at least 15 times in 30 pages, it would literally just be bad writing.

It's funny how, anytime I read something horror adjacent, i think about the haunting of hill house, right now, especially since I'm literally reading about a haunted hotel... only for it to actually get mentioned in the book 😭 methinks I need to rewatch the haunting of hill house.
